What to Expect at StoneLake Church (FAQ’S)

What can I expect on Sunday Mornings?

Parking: From the moment you pull into the Cleburne Christian Academy parking lot we want you to feel welcomed.  Feel free to park anywhere.  You will see our main entrance located at the gym of the school.

Food: As you enter the worship center there will be an area set-up with food and drinks. Everything from coffee, fruit juices, and water to donuts, granola, and fruit will be available. We want you to feel comfortable as though you already belong.  Feel free to help yourself, it’s all free.

Your Children: Before you head to the worship center, parents, you will drop your child off at Adventure Kids. Adventure Kids is the name of our Children's Ministry. Children learn lessons from the Bible in a campfire setting equipped with tents, trees, lanterns, and a campfire. Adventure Kids places a premium on safety, quality, fun interaction and biblical teaching. All workers are background checked and trained to minister to your child with love.

The Worship Service: The goal of the service is to clearly present the message of Jesus Christ in a way that is relevant. The music is relevant to the culture with an emphasis on modern praise and worship. The teaching time will utilize technology and multi-media. The service is a little over an hour in length. Come prepared to enjoy yourself.

What do I wear on Sunday Mornings?

At StoneLake we believe that God is more concerned about your inner wear (heart) than your outer wear. The Bible says that man looks at the outside, but the Lord looks at your heart. Therefore, we want you to have the freedom to dress causal. Wear your shorts, flip-flops, hat, or jeans. We don't care as long as you come dressed. No naked people please!

Does StoneLake have small groups?

Journey Groups are small groups of people (8 to 15) that connect each week for friendships, bible study, prayer, and missions. These groups meet in homes once a week and basically walk through life together. We have a number of Journey Groups that meet on various days and places throughout the week with different types of studies. We will offer two journey groups beginning in January.

Do you guys speak in tongues during the Sunday services?

No. We want to do everything possible to limit distractions so that people can hear the Word of God.
Realizing that differences of opinion exist on the issue of tongues, for the sake of unity, StoneLake Church asks all who worship here to refrain from exercising tongues at any StoneLake gathering.

So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 1 Corinthians 14:23

Do you have plans of building a church building?
Yes. Some new churches fall into a trap of building a building too soon and too small and that ultimately hurts their growth. StoneLake will have a building in the future. However, we are focused on building the body of believers (people) versus building a building. We are more interested in the harvest than the barn
